Saving Montlhery
« on: August 06, 2003, 01:58:45 pm »
There is a petition that has been organized to try and save this historic circuit, the last intact high-speed bowl left in the world.
If you have ever been to this wonderful circuit please sign the petition, so you can go again.
If you have never been please sign, if it's saved you can go in the future.
This is a petition organized by the French, and advertised in the Daily Telegraph in this country, so the response should be good, please take the time to sign up.

I signed, anybody else ?
I don't care - I'm a racing driver and I'm here to win, not to finish third.

I have not been but would certainly like the opportunity to go in the future.

Far too many historic sites, connected with motor sport or otherwise, are being allowed to decay to the point of deriliction, then destroyed because 'well it would be uneconomic to restore, so lets tear it down and make some money on the land...'

Excuse my cynicism but it happens again and again.

Petition duly signed....

I signed .

Wouldnt it be good if one of the car firms in france bought the circuit , as a huge advertisment , Citroen or Peugeot . The banners would be seen by hundreds of car fans .
That way it may stay open .

Problem is , even with petitions , if someone has decided to get rid of something , then its going.....

Sorry to be a pesamist as i love the circuit .
Take life by the horns and live it.

I've just signed.
Having seen whats left of Brooklands, it would be a real shame to see another classic banked circuit wrecked.
