Just checked LD Lines. They are quoting £155, which is £58 more than I paid last year. When are that race dates announced? PP

PP, I think the dates are anounced at the end of month or early November, the price may hike up when they know.

From the prices given on Britanny Ferries I reckon they already know.
Cannot seem to get a price out of Transmanche/LD Lines yet.

I found them cheaper for the week of the 13th-14th, then the 20th-21st or the 6th-7th . Looks like we will stay and extra night as coming back on Tuesday after saves another £100!

We have been thinking about going over earlier and having a few days exploring before getting to camp on Monday morning. We came back Tuesday afternoon this year and will do the same again next year, maybe even wednesday. We will book as soon as dates are released. PP

For anybody who doesn't like the sardine tin conditions on speed ferries, Sea France are offering fares at £24 each way that week at the moment. Dover/Calais 0800 out tuesday, 1515 back monday = £48 And thats with a roof load.

Bloody cheap, I will be looking at £150 - £190+ for 1 and car from Guernsey to St Malo, under two hours crossing time.
Mind you for the same travel time and same company, Condor, I would pay between £260 and £380+ to UK and the lower price is very rare. How do they work that out then?

Ease up you guys, not easy for us millionaires (as all Guernsey residents are) big problems over here at the moment as we do not have any banker protection for money invested. A lot of people had money in Landisbanki over here and lost the lot, well not quite, they have been offered a starter of 30%. Even the major banks do not protect our money, bit strange don't you think. Mine is all under the bed, mind you I have to use a ladder to get on it. Barry I was pointing out the difference in cost for basically the same trip, also you can get very cheap passenger day returns now and again, people pop over and buy a few thousand fags on their return from the duty free (on the boat) and actually make money after selling them! Milk is going up to 98p a litre, mind you that is Golden Guernsey milk. There is an ad on the tv at the moment for whisky which is cheaper than over here and we are duty free(?) >Martini... ££

So, just to digress, why should I bail out people who invested in the Icelandic banks? They weren't about to share any of their additional interest with me at any time were they?
Sorry, thread hijack not intended - rant over.
