Bleedin' bored, need some spicey convo to brighten up a droll day (but please do not take this as an excuse to restart tales of derring do and bravado in the toilet/chunder department like my innocent cycling post did!!!).

Must be something we can "bollock talk" about while we wait for the dates announcement! (Other than ticket confirmation - which I have yet to receive incidentally  :o )

Bored, bored, bored ........

Dear Mr. R. Meister,

I was speaking to a friend at the weekend who commented that he thought the British GP this year was the best GP race he had seen for many years. He commented that it had 'everything'. Now I couldn't possibly comment as I was in Egypt at the time and haven't seen even a seconds footage. (that's the disclaimer sorted anyway!!)

Now lets open this one up to the floor...

Yeah, good old "Muddly Talker". His departure from the scene pretty much coincided with my own. Got to the point now that, brilliant that old spoon face is, I tend to tape the race and get Mrs. R to check text and if he hasn't won then I watch it later!!!

Hah! 'Spoon Face'  excellent!!  ;D

So did you tape & watch the British GP? As I seem to remember somebody saying 'spoon face' didn't win. But I may be wrong about that... can't remember... which is quite poor really...  ???

Yeah, it was the other red car and it was good to see Monty doing the business in SF's backyard.

Saw some good old F1 machinery at the weekend at Donington Park in the FIA Thoroughbred Grand Prix series. Bit of a limiting field (several Williams, Lotus and Ensign, a brace of Tyrrells plus a few others) but some cracking machinery nonetheless!

Contemporary F1 is still a tad too uninspiring, even when SF doesn't win. Haven't been to a GP in Britain since about 1986. Managed Jerez in 1989 but that was it! On the other hand, this year's LM was no. 22 for me - I know where to enjoy myself most!

 ;D

It's got that 'good' that's its sad to wait for Spoon Face to lose before it becomes interesting.  Used ot watch id avidly, but now....................... ???

LM is not only better, it's cheaper, and so much fun.  First time this year, but already saving for next year.  Came to it late in life, but seriously converted ;D

To anyone who shows just a modicum of interest, I always say that "everyone should go to LM at least once .. but be warned, it might not be the last!" and it seems I have been proven right again!!

Recently I was asked by a lady from the US who was trying to sort a surprise for her soon to be betrothed as to whether Le Mans or the Monaco GP was "the" race to take him to. I like to think I summed it up well; as Monaco being a glass of champagne but Le Mans was a whole bottle of fine malt whisky!!

 ;D  ;)

Cheers!

Rick

Does this question worth to be raised ?

Let's her know that more Americans attend to LM than Monaco, that the show is all along the week and not simply during 2 hours, action and suspense are even not comparable, it's a more friendly and less jet-set atmosphere, IT COSTS AT LEAST 3 TIMES LESS (especially if you add accomodation, food, transport, extra,...)
Le Mans is life, anything before and after is just waiting...

... it's not the taking part but the winning that counts !

Don't worry I left her in no uncertain terms of all the above and more!!

And Gib, Laphroaig would be fine by me too!
