Hi all,

Looks like I have a space on Houx courtesy of 1st Tickets.

My question is this: -

My mate will be arriving on Friday from Luxembourg.  We will be sharing the pitch.  Pitch only allows for one car.  So, in order to save buying a second pitch and spending an extra £86 can I buy a parking pass on "Parking Vert" for €32?  He has to arrive by car as he needs to be back in Luxurybourg by lunchtime Monday, so train/tram not an option.

Will this parking ticket be valid for Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday?

Am I looking at arriving late Wednesday afternoon via LD Lines Dover/Boulogne and departing early Monday morning back to Boulogne for the 10:45 sailing.

Anyone got experience of how safe Parking Vert is?  Was on Bleu Nord last year and found that my car had been 'tampered' with as the alarm had been activated.  Suspect the BN pikies had been looking around.

Thanks aww flee

Saturday Sunday valid.
Sunday night Monday morning, probably not, doesn't really matter, Russell can almost certainly get his car onto Houx Sunday evening.

Friday I have no idea, prehaps some of the others have tried this.
You can book parking online at the ACO website,
http://ticket.lemans.org/vente2/visu_article_mini.php?id_univers=1&id_ev=25&id_boutique=65&id_rubrique=65

This is what is says about Verte.

Description
Unnumbered car parks. Light vehicles only.

Inside car park

Camping is strictly forbidden in the car parks, for fear of being excluded.
Some car parks will be free during the practice sessions on Wednesday and Thursday.

My guess would be that the car parks are safer than the camp sites as the pikeys are more likely to roam the camp sites looking for easy pickings.

I parked on parking blanc many moons ago and it seemed quite civilised.

Thx Piglet.

According to the ACO, via 1st-Tickets, there is no guarantee that Parking Vert will be open on Friday.  Though it will be on Weds & Thurs!  It depends on staffing & I suppose whether or not they can be bothered.

They [ACO] recommend Parking Blanc or Expo.  Expo is fenced & spaces are numbered.

We might buy both an Expo & a Vert pass for €32 each as that is still much cheaper than buying two camping pitches.

At least when my M8 turns up on the Friday he knows for certain he can park, even if I have to collect him from Expo and then move his car on Saturday to Vert.

Thanks FS.

My M8 will actually be camping with me on Houx.

It's just a case of where he parks.

 Cool

We have parked in Vert for many years. Your mate should have no problem with the Friday, In my experience over the last 15 years or so it has always been open on the Friday and, as FS has already stated, there are numerous people with small tents or awnings between cars, so I guess that there's no problem with it being open between Friday and Saturday.

Well I am hoping that we will now be joining the throng on BN

Thankfully my co-conspirator had not yet paid for his PArking Vert ticket.

However, been looking on the ACO's website tonight & there is no parking available anywhere!

Anyone know why this might be the case?

We now need a parking permit for Bleu or Heronniers.

Thx
