Holy sh*t Deb :o That's the first time I have seen that picture. You are one lucky girl, a living testement to the French emergency and health services.

They performed admirably - but so did the car! A tiny 5-door hatchback. the Micra's engine hardly moved back at all, and the nearside rear (that's still opposite corner to the driver, although LHD) passenger door still opened and closed with a click, even though the roof had been taken off! Given the circs, and the gendarme's evident satisfaction that Deb was in no way to blame, this sort of mischance could befall any of us. I'm not at all convinced an older generation car would have permitted survival. Termie is certainly looking for another one when the funds arrive! Look at the Ncap website to see how things continue to improve in this area - newer models do even better!

The car was a marvel anyway

I well remember Termie setting a quite blistering pace around the countryside last year in it.

In our "tazzing-around" motors we were all having fun keeping up.

So it looks like its all down to the alloy wheels then, must get some for Lara the "small dark green pleasure machine"

I had great fun that day.  Anyway, as you both well know, it's not the car it's the **** (how did you refer to him, Bill? ;)) behind the steering wheel wot counts.  There's no doubt that little car had a great chassis and just loved being chucked round corners in fun.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one to anybody who's after a small car.
