McNish spent months preparing his neck muscles to cope with the G forces in the GT1 - but his eyeball muscles just weren't up to it

Once Allan had got over the initial trauma of an encounter deep in a tin mine in Cornwall, he realised the benefits of becoming a zombie. There was no need for driver changes, and he would drive the whole 24 hours himself
