CA v Facebook
« on: August 06, 2009, 01:41:16 pm »
It seems that a lot a CAer's are now using  facebook as a means of comunicating and as a forum for discussion. This is by no means a bad thing as it offers a lot more possibilities to play games, take part in quizzes, post pictures etc than the Club Arnage website. It seems to me that as a result this forum is suffering from a lack of new posts and the usual banter. I have absolutely nothing against sites such as Myface and Spacebook, I use facebook myself to a limited extent and think it is a very useful tool to keep in touch with oneanother. But,let us not forget how we all met and became friends. Please don't ignore poor old CA. I know it is usually a bit quiet at this time of year but the way it is at the moment I fully expect to log on one day and see tumbleweed blowing across the screen. As the Aussie advert says .... "Where the bloody hell are you?"

Bob - well said - I agree with you.

p.s. - where do you want me to post my full answer?  - CA, Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, lost and found notice board or in the help wanted in the FT ;D

Bob, seems more like a them and us, reminds me of pubescent teenagers at school, let them f**k off elsewhere if that's where they feel most happiest, no loss to me.

I'm sure this is just a CA lull before the 2010 dates get announced......
Then there will be the flurry of activity related to BN tickets and Wokingham meets!

July 2007 had 2232 posts
July 2008 had 1903 posts
July 2009 had   677 posts which is one of the lowest figures

does seem that the post Le Mans dip this year is deeper than normal.

and Wokingham meets!

Nothing wrong with having a Wokingham meet in the next couple of weeks. I'm up for it if there is any interest.

It might well be quiet here, but I tell you, it's none stop action on Arsebook.
Never used Facebook, is it similar?

Yeah, it seems that some people have moved to other places - I also think it's rather quiet here. But there is actually a lot of Le-Mans-related stuff to discuss: The new GT2 Corvette, cancellation of the Chinese round of the Asian Le Mans Series, the declining numbers of entries in teh LMS (BTW-Anone know where the Epsilon Euscadis are?) and last not least: Where is the Commer now????

hoping that the car would break down. I came away in love with the place." - Eddie Irvine
