Sorry but the party history of LM goes back to the 30's and is not ever going to be compatible with Porche's clinical vision of a "porche experience", MAISON BLANC has been sold to the Corporate buck and we are out, it is a shame that a few left the wrong impression ~ most of the CA MB hard core were on Houx this yea.

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Great Le Mans Week

Super week, I can only echo what others have said about why. Debby also enjoyed it immensely. It was great meeting people old and new, and with four nationalities sharing the five pitches we were on, the "Internationalness" of it was brought home when Mike Carr from the US dropped by unexpectedly (to me anyways!).
Least memorable night was Thursday, but only not memorable due to the vast Low Flyer I downed in one :-)
Thanks to people for the advice and assistance with the car problems (during the trip I had a flat battery on Monday, a puncture on Tuesday - or was it Wednesday? - and the engine management light was on and the car was misfiring for the whole trip - new coil arriving tomorrow but cat might be shagged).
My pet annoyance is having to queue for showers and loo at almost any time of day on Bleu Nord, but it's one I managed to live with...
Already planning 2016...
Thanks for a great pitch, GA and Aco pass Geoff although I only escaped the family Thursday it was a great time, good to hear you got home in the Banger and can get it sorted, still in Granville will post more details when I get back as Euro2016 is going to impact on the ferries next year and this could help. Cheers to all I saw, apologies to all I didn't or say good bye to. Ian

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: 24H in a wheelchair! Advice on local transport...

Hi Easyrider64, welcome to CA and hopefully to LM. One of my first memories of Le Mans (2001) was a lad in a wheelchair that was being dragged through the mud (it was a very wet race) by his mates on long ropes, I was to learn that it summed up Le Mans very well, people will help you more than any other place. In saying that, I think the wheel access has improved but it's not likely to perfect in the tunnel and the terraces are almost impossible to traverse even for the most able bodied about 1 1/2hr before the start of the race. What would help would be an identifier, do you have a flag pole to fly a flag (unfortunately I think the CA flags are a bit rare now) but a good Union Jack would help or a donated CA Tee shirt (I have an old XL you can have). This would of course mean that you be greeted by many CA members and never be far from help whether you want it or not (you are also likely to be taken in completely the opposite direction that you want to go by the more inebriated members!). One thing for sure, if you do make it, you will go to the best and friendliest motor race in the world.

Well I am excited and stressed at the same time...as so much to do and so little time before I leave. See you in a field in France. Phil
Yes, 12 of us to get to get settled in France so Brad and I can escape to that field!

I am sure there will be weather. Come prepared.
I'll be prepared for whatever the weather may throw at us as I will have full sailing wet weather gear with me. Dx [/quote I feel that multiple buckets of water are required to test such weather gear to the full Ice cold water will be best. Also, if you could arrange it so the ground is at a 45 degree angle and I'm struggling to stand up straight that would be perfect. Dx I'm sure that copious amounts of Cider will help replicate your oceanic angles, we will just need to add the ice and water

I see according to that plan that Kart Nord has ceased to exist, it is no more, an ex campsite. It was doomed when the Danes took it over with their over-sized tour buses and mushroom farms. Karting has a lot to answer for in my LM / CA story as it's where I first met Tom. Good times. Sad to hear it's gone. Dx Yes, Brad and I too, it was the scene of one of the most bazaar sights of our early LM experience, a group with a big RV set in the tree's having a full Christmas banquet with Candelabras, DJ's, fairy lights and Christmas hymns!

Being going to Le Mans for years, now 62 still able to knock back a few beers tho, question how old is too old to go!
I'm asking exactly the same question. Two of our team have died in the last year, and we're not sure that the younger generation will be able to look after us in the manner to which we've become accustomed. We have diabetes issues too, with two tests a day, but for a scotch drinker, so not too big a problem. Conclusion, no horizon in sight but those portapottys come in handy Fleabay is your friend, portable John, Bog in a bag, it's all there for us....or as posted before, the 99p store 10lt water containers are perfect for night time weewees ( diabetic for 8 years, plan for the consequences)

Don't worry chaps I've an idea, I'm going to set up a care home in Mulsanne you know the type own room and constant care from a " pit baby "
what a great idea, a balcony over looking the straight, comode seats for convince, a buggy shuttle service to the Guinness bar, perfect.

I saw an interview between Bernie and Eddie when Eddie asked about Piech saying that "Audi would not enter F1 while he was in charge? Bernie shrugged his shoulders and said "I haven't heard that" Heard but not heard?
