General Discussion / Print at home A4 Tickets

For the first time this year I have print at home tickets which I have printed on white A4 as per the instructions.

A question for those who have had these in previous years. Once at LM, do I continue to use this A4 paper ticket to enter and leave the ticket? or do they get exchanged for the normal sized tickets that will go in a lanyard when I enter the circuit area for the first time?

If they remain as A4 then I can see its condition getting worse and worse over the weekend being only paper (which I understand they don't want you to fold).

Fellow CA'ers - our small group of LM veterans has no place to park our tents yet. So we are needing to find two camping passes so that we can come to Le Mans in June. Hopefully on either Epinettes or Houx. If there is someone here that has some spares please do get in touch. Merci beaucoup.

Si, I have had a Tiger Moth flight in New Zealand and it was fantastic. It turns from Austin 7 on the ground to Mini Cooper in the air with looping the loop, stall turns and tight turns and for about £50 for a flight was a no brainer to experience. ( Croydon Aircraft Company at Mandeville).

 However for me the opportunity to fly in that Spitfire would be so way way beyond fantastic that I think it does not compare.

You must be a hell of a bloke that your loved ones will club together to buy you such a gift. It wouldn't suprise me that if you didn't take up this super present it will be amongst your  biggest regrets when you look back.

And we would all get to share your account of it after.

My experience from last June -

What was it like for the 24?

I thought it was very good. There was a single entrance with security asking to see vehicle passes and race tickets of everyone as they passed in and out whether they were on foot, in vehicle or on bike. This led to a feeling that the site was pretty secure and the situation meant it had only campers there and no persons passing through. The entrance was not opposite the Houx/HA entrance as had been thought beforehand but instead 200m further south along the road. As well as camping on the field there was access to ad-hoc camping in the trees that shield the site from the road. The pitches were not numbered for the 24 hour.

There was a cosmopolitan bunch of campers of all ages - mainly tents interspersed with the usual mix of interesting vehicles. It was not too raucous but an acceptable level of late night music, bangers and iriots on motos and scooters. I didn't hear of any thieving whilst I was there, but have since read that someone had their scooters nicked.

How were the facilities?

An internal gravel circular access road with three shower and toilet areas - the one we used was regularly cleaned all weekend. We camped opposite it and the longest queue I saw for the shower would have been about ten persons. There was always hot water when I was there. There was power available for those with extension leads. Ground condition was typical of LM but I had no problem with getting the pegs in.

What was it like getting in and out?

No unreasonable difficulties, but arriving whilst the track is closed at the peak times of Wednesday and Thursday pm/evening will mean you have to join the traffic queue of arrivals to Houx/HA or an approach from the BSJ direction might be better? For the classic I expect it will be easier

It is my first choice campsite for next June, and indeed I believe that is where we will be (Dr S  LB???). I have no pictures - sorry.

I say go for them without a sample. I realise that you probably feel responsible for getting us good flags but I for one will be happy to pay for whatever turns up. Thank you for taking a lead on our behalf
