So, Fran has got to walk past 43 pit garages before she gets her Saleen fix :'(
There is a corner of a foreign field that will be forever England ------ Houx Annexe

And the bastards have built on it.

Looks like Fran will be permanently sat opposite Pit 44 then!  ;)

They've put the Astons and the 'Vettes right near each other again. I'd have thought that cars in the same category that will probably have pretty similar refuelling strategies would be spaced out a bit better. Surely it adds an extra element of danger having cars in pits near each other at the same time?

Any idea which pits are directly opposite the ACO Tribune (18) ?

My recollection from the classic 2 years ago is that the ACO tribune is opposite the left hand end (as you look at them) of the pits.  So that is either the lowest numbers, or the highest.

That was really useful wasn't it?   ::)

Depends where your seat is - the stand goes from pit 50 to about 30.  Can anybody remember whether it's the low or high numbered seats that are opposite the pit exit?

Cheeky b's JPC and BobU!!!  I am in the something or other tribune which I think is towards that end of the pits - I think!  I look forward to watching it cruise out of the pit lane (on the limiter of course) after each routine scheduled stop.  8)

IIRC it is the higher numbers. The lower numbers start in the older of the 2 ACO stands.

Looks like we're going to be approx. opposite  the Chamberlain pit which is good news. It's always entertaining to see Hugh's reactions as well as hear them when inevitably something else goes wrong.

What do you reckon 1L 17 will mean then?
I agree about Hugh.  Met him in '99 in  a bar in LM and had a long chat.  Leaning over the rail at scrutineering last year, he walked over and said hi, having only met me the once.  Great bloke. :)

Well 17 is the newer bit of ACO tribune to the left (if you are in the ACO and facing the pits), and 1L I presume is seat 1 in row L.

Looking at the grandstand map and the pit allocations above I guess you'll be approximately opposite the Joest Audi.

The gararges are number 1 to 50 such that pit 1 is the first pit the cars come to or as you face the pits
they are numbers right to left.   The tribunes are numbered right to left also if you face them from the trak.
However I think the seat numbers are left to right as you face the tribune.

Hope that makes sense.

The tribune ticket markings are in the order esc rang place so 1 L 17 would mean take set of stairs no.1  row L Seat no. 17.
