OK Simple question,

What's the Greatest Car Chase in a Movie? (so far)

Now to compete it must not be CGI (no Matrix), models or any other means.

Only genuine real car chase.

My first offer is

Blues Brothers

If there is a large choice we could sort out a vote

OK - for the vote (not in order) Once these have completed - we'll do a vote
1. Blues Brothers - the whole film!
2. Bullit
3. Gone in 60 Seconds
4. Ronin
5. The French Connection
6. The Italian Job
7. Vanishing point
8. Smokey and the Bandit?
9. Brum -
10.

If you're going through hell, keep going.

The final chase in the '70's (and original) edition of Gone in 60 seconds wasn't bad either...

This film should be played at high volume, so don't come complaining about it! And who the hell is Steve?

Gone in 60 entered and also another great one -

Ronin, great race thru Paris, made better because of Robert De Niro face of shock/worry was real, as they used stunt drivers using right hand drive cars.
If you're going through hell, keep going.

Does the boat chase around the Amsterdam canals in Puppet on a chain Qualify?

Or car v train in "The French Connection"? That has to be a classic, too.

I think on this one there was no car, even thou it was great, - so no - unless everyone says it should be

The French connection -  Yes, - well I think so, unless u lot say no.

Note- Changed the title, as I have been told there are some good movies due out, which will have good car chase's in them. - So added "So far" as things change.
If you're going through hell, keep going.

I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

Ok - Blues Brothers - The Whole film, as the mall was great, - We could have got a drum kit from there as well.
If you're going through hell, keep going.

Hang on, i've got an Idea......................

What about

And I'm talking about the real one. (1969)

If you're going through hell, keep going.

Bullitt huh? Now why did the car he was chasing lose SIX hubcaps? My favourite, although not actually a chase, is the 10 minute film "The Rendezvous" filmed early one Sunday morning with reputedly Jackie Ickx at the wheel of a Ferrari.

BigH

Hmm, Rendezvous....
A great film and soundtrack, but an optical illusion nonetheless (then again, which films aren't?). I think someone worked out the average speed at about 40mph or maybe even less, and when it sounds like he's maxing it in 4th gear (which should be well over the ton) he's actually doing about 60. I think it was Spirit Level Films that did a great re-mastering job a couple of years ago.
I think it's got to be Bullitt, but there's a good choice out there. Both the Bourne films had a great chase, a mini in the first, and I forget what in the second. I forget so much...

Before you vote though, just go here and watch it. The sound of that V12 is sending shivers up my spine.........
