well across another hurdle, the neutrophil counts are on there way up and that means I can get out of my isolation room for the occassional stroll around the ward.  Most of the drugs are via tablet and that means i can have a weekend pass for good behaviour, one of them smells like the guines brewery.

Been a while on this thread, although there have been some more recent posts from the man himself, but I would like to know whether we have Dolly incarnate amongst us?  Has Nurse Gladys Emmanuel been accosted by Roger the Cabin Boy yet?

I spoke with Peter the other day, he is on day release now, although still in strict quarantine. The transpalnt has gone very very well, and the consultants are exceptionally pleased with him. I can only assume that he has not posted for a while due to the lack of spare time, i.e. getting to the hospital in the morning, more intensive treatment and the back home for some food and then to bed ready for the next day.
From what he said though all is gooing very well, as for accosting Nurse Emmanule, I think Dierdre is keeping him in check and ensureing the safety of the nursing staff

i'll try and post something over the weekend, home on day release, which means day long visits to hopital for bits and bobs.  as the great man said, it's the end of the beginning, so a whole year of being very careful followed by at least another year of slightly less careful.  still waiting for the results of the chimera test to see how much of me is left after the transplant.

Andy, it is in the diary, who knows at the moment, the docs are treading a very slender path between balancing the old me against the new cells, at the moment that means three visits per week doing the bloods and drugs that are needed to keep me on an even keel. fingers crossed.
