Just bowled up - about to settle down for a long evening in front of the telly with Mr T watching the race. 3 French class wins, including the Saleen - I came home a very happy bunny. (I think Piglet was about to disown me when I started singing the Marseillaise )

Great weekend as ever guys.  Thanks especially to Ade for keeping me company on Sunday evening - the campsite looked even bleaker, and felt even colder, with so few tents on it.

Cheers to Neil for playing chef for the weekend - great grub - and to Steve for those eggs. Also to Sam for keeping mini-Paddy entertained so well - you are right Neil, he's a star.

One last thing; we met Herni Pescarolo and crew at the Channel Tunnel (how the hell did they get there that fast?!?, we left right after the race...). I spoke briefly with a woman of the team. She told me Jacky Ickx and Jan Lammers were supposed to drive at the weekend, but didn't show up. Further questions weren't possible as we had to catch a train.
Does anybody know any more about this?

I think, but correct me if I am wrong, that the car lasted only 2.5 hours, so that explains it I guess.

The first time was OK, it was the third that was a bit much    plus the whooping at the Saleen of course !!!

A good weekend all, sorry I ddn't get to see you all, but duties in the Pit Lane kept me occupied for most of the weekend.

Delboy was talking about the difference between F1 and P1, and so I had a look.
The no.7 Peug did 1:31.692 during qualifying last Saturday.
The no.1 McLaren did 1:19.152 during qualifying on Saturday 7th July.

So the P1Diesels are definitely slower than F1 (which doesn't surprise me).

Sure. But even though the traffic wasn't that bad on the M1 - we were still surprised to see Herni at the Tunnel, especially as him and crew were already sitting down as we arrived. It just looks weird to me to leave the race track that soon after achieving a podium finish.

Well, perhaps he should sack the drivers and put the truckies into the race cars for the next outing then, to get to Folkestone that quick was quite an achievement!

Nah, it was himself driving in a black Merc ML-series. The rest must have been management crew.

On  my way up to Silverstone I took the M1 route which took 2hrs 15mins thanks to 3 lots of rubbernecking and the roadworks.

Going back I we went down the M40 and took 1/2 an hour off the journey........so perhaps Mr.Pesky took the M40 as well.

He would have been held up if he did, major accident at High Wycombe, M25 bound, we bailed out at Stokenchurch and went cross country.
