Just checked out Ferry costs for her and it's nowhere near what I was expecting.....

Rex, I've just been chatting to a mate of mine who's very familiar with Bedford TKs.  He reckons the diesel engined version should give you 30 mpg and shouldn't be much of a job to carry out an engine swop (although the cab will need to be lifted off).
Bedford TK diesel engines are available via Army surplus.

Its a thought I had been looking into. One to run by the crew and see what they think. We have the facilities down here to do it easily and there is so much room that it may even be achievable without cab removal, using a bit of forest magic!
Engines look to be about £600 ish, up to £800 for a turbo one.... we shall see!!
