Free Autoroute "Doofer"

This company is giving out free Telepeage transponders with no monthly fee:

http://www.offres-alis.com/fr/confort.php

There is nothing in their terms and conditions to prevent you from getting one of these even if you live in the UK and have a bank account there.  Might be handy for hols as well as trips to LM in June. You also get a small discount on one section of the A28 (your choice) between Rouen and Alencon.  You get a free high-viz jacket and an Autoroute map of France as well.

Just recieved a reply to an email i sent to the company.
Although they are happy to provide this offer to UK residents, a French bank account is required.
B*gger.

D*mn, Barry.  Sorry to get your hopes up, everyone.  I know other companies accept UK bank accounts, but you need to pay rental for the gadget.  Humph.

No problem Deb.
Thanks for the spot.
If I could have used a UK account I would have got one.

All of them.  (As you have a house here, you may just have the requisite bank account too! ;))

Nothing if you apply via the link in my first post.  This company (Alis) only operates the A28 between Alencon and Rouen but are doing the doofers for free and they cover the whole network (plus Alis car parks, oddly enough!) No monthly charges either.  I have never bothered before either but as there's no financial outlay (except when you use it),it struck me finally as being worth having.  No way was I ever going to pay a monthly fee as most of the other suppliers do.  Hence my post. :)

I got one from the Sanf people
http://www.sanef.com/fr/ecommerce/particulier/decouvre.jsp

I only pay a monthly charge for the actual months it gets used.
Had it 3 or 4 years now. I think it well worth it for not worrying about scraping the alloys on the kerbs, let alone jumping the queues!

I do recall a 20 Euro(?) deposit, which you get back when you return it - I can't see that happening anytime soon!
