Poles from here: https://www.skyblueleisure.co.uk/acatalog/Telescopic_Poles.html
We always remove the very end section as it is too thin to cope with flags!

Robbo,

OK - added.

Can I assume that these poles work with sleeved flags or do people usually have something else?

The Chine printer has vanished, so I'm on the search for a new one.

All the UK printers appear quite expensive - £40 and upwards, so I've reached out to alternative Chinese printers and am waiting quotes back.  Again, I think I'd like to try one.

I am assuming 3'x5' on nylon, single sided digitally printed.  I am assuming eyelets, but I can vary this.

As this is new to me, can I use someone to test what I get back for quality?

The updated list that I have is:

Snoring Rhino
Werner
Rhino
landman
Kev_mk3
Newcastle Dave
Shortcut
Canada Phil
Steve Pyro

Dettore

Let me know if I have missed anyone off, or you want more than one (except Robbo)

Eyelets will be cheaper on the flags. Use these: https://www.skyblueleisure.co.uk/acatalog/info_3_SB00105.html

The flag bungees work very well and seem to last without breaking.

Yes, double wrap a cable tie at the first joint for the top of the flag and then just fly a "bright coloured dangly thing" from the top section, so you can identify yours from a distance

Good work, what's the price difference?

Hi!

The price difference on the ex-works price is not significant... $5 each

I do not have the full costs yet, but these are the assumptions I'm working through....

Total shipping to the UK - $70, but is based on weight.
that I don't use an import agent
duty around 5% or less
VAT at 20% which applies to goods and shipping cost (oh, how I love HMRC)
UK p&p £5

So, I think an estimate of £20 and £25/flag for the two weights.

This looks around 50-60% the price I was getting from UK suppliers, so looks worthwhile.

I'd be tempted to go for the better quality material one.

Robbo,

I wasn't thinking quality, rather about the way that the lighter material will show off the flag in the balmy breezes that we traditionally have at Le Mans.

These numbers mean nothing to me, being a flag virgin.

I will go with the heavier weight unless someone tells me otherwise....
