Leigh Abbott popped round yesterday for a cup of tea and we thought we'd have a crack at making her run. So I shoved in a fresh battery and half a gallon of unleaded. A quick squirt of Bradex into the carb and this...

I wouldn't sit there if I were you, it's still a bit wet.

It's not to late...
Never argue with an idiot, they'll only drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

And that was definitely Andy. Get her to Le Mans!!!

This film should be played at high volume, so don't come complaining about it! And who the hell is Steve?

Good to see the Grand Old Lady still has some life in her.
But will she ever venture to foreign parts again?

So, despite looking forlorn and neglected, she runs and lives yet!!  Pleasing to see and hear that she has not gone into terminal decline. I look forward to discussing, doubtless over a beer or two next week, with her keeper how he needs to repent and invest some effort into bringing her back to her public.

Poor old Commer. Is no one going to take over the baton? She deserves so much more.

As mentioned elsewhere, I'm taking a year off from LM in 2013.

I have decided to replace my modern camper with something with more character- like the Commer. Hopefully my efforts might inspire Mr Zarse into getting the old girl back down to Le Sarthe in 2014?

It would look smashing parked next to my new project

You can have her if you like, for a nominal sum.

Alas I have too many projects on the go already.

Do you not fancy rebuilding her Andy. How about a little modernisation? I don't think it would to be too difficult to shoe horn the running gear out of something like a new Transit van. Imagine, lots of power,  6 gears, 35-40mpg, 80mph cruising, power steering and fancy disc brakes. All the reliability and comfort of a modern camper with oldskool charm and cool.

Is that the yellow peril?  If I hadnt experienced first hand the smell of burning as we thrashed back to Cherbourg I might have been tempted to make an offer!!
