Nice Photoshop Andy.  ;D

This film should be played at high volume, so don't come complaining about it! And who the hell is Steve?

Oh dear Marius

Are you implying that the 'van might not be quite as well dressed as that?

Oh woe is me if that is the truth

In the spirit of the Green Goddess and Mr Zarse's legendary pre race preparations, my trusty Merc made it to Le Mans and back for the seventh time in eleven years. It was still on the ramp at 9:30 on Wednesday night being reassembled before heading south at 4:30am the next morning.

1289 mile round trip this year. Can't believe how quickly the years roll by.

not your old one is it Mr Z (yes I know its a different colour - but it could have been resprayed - or even just washed!)

as it in your old neck of the woods

Having pondered for some time over a suitable Modern Commer Replacement, I have decided to commence a new relationship. I am formally replacing the beautiful light commercial with something equally refined and well, downright proper. So I can today reveal I have decided to welcome a Rover to the Zarse family.

Please meet 552 EWW, a Rover 110 from 1963, complete with Weslake cylinder head sat atop a short stroke 2.6 litre straight six, it is a vehicle cut from the same cloth as the Commer. In short, it's a bit of class.

I'm off to the tobacconists first thing for a new pipe and a tin of St Bruno and once I've modified the wireless so it's got Blueteeth I'll be able to waft along in gentlemanly fashion listening to the melodies of its 6 pot engine and Weslake cylinder head overlaid with the soothing strains of The Cult...

She's not coming to LM this year, I think a period of courtship would be considered decourous and in any event I don't collect her until after we return. But next year... oh I have some plans next year  >:D

Aaah, a sweet resurrection of a classic and illustrious thread....at last, sense has been seen and a classic has come back to the Zarse fold. Very bank manager. Don't forget the flat cap and string backed gloves.

Some further accessory suggestions for car and owner might be in order.......an indication of whether a tow bar is already fitted, for the likes of a classic Paladin caravan would be helpful; one woul, after all, add to its wider utility?

Oh, and I do hope that the Commer's current keepers have been treating her well, such that she forgives your previous callous treatment of her and does not return to haunt...
