Strong rumours circulating on social media that there is a small angry crowd gathering outside Durham passport office, reports suggest that a work experience lad has been captured and negotiations are ongoing. Cries of "what are you going to do with that rotisserie?!" were heard a short time ago from the back of a small van  ;D

Well, after spending this morning on the phone and hearing that it hadn't left the printers (story number 4), then travelling to Durham and they eventually rang Liverpool to be told it was posted on Wednesday and would probably arrive today (story number 5), it didn't so I rang them back asking them the simple question,
'Do you know where my passport is?'
Its probably at the couriers but they have nothing to do with us so i can't really say.
Eh yes they do because you use them.
Errrhh I'm really sorry, you'll have to ring them.
Do you have a tracking number?
errh no we don't do them.
The woman I spoke to this morning said you did so how do you know where the passports are?
Well I don't know why she did that, we don't have tracking numbers. Heres the number.
Rang number and they shut at 4 and are not open untill Monday.

So I'm not going tomorrow, the lads are going to take the van down, I'm going to have to spend all Monday chasing it up hopefully to fly out on Tuesday morning. One way fight £404, return flight £200  ??? ???

I was also speaking to my sister in law who is in France at the moment and she's heard of 2 other people with passport problems. One was a 90 year old veteran going over for the Normandy remembrance. He ended up at one at Sedgefield. As my mate just pointed out the poor bloke didn't need a passport the first time he went over.

f**k*ng Bastards, they couldn't lie straight in bed at night. Makes you wonder about all this passport security bollocks when they don't even know where the ones they've got are.

Glass of beer, all calm now, rant over, continue packing the van.  :)
