Just had Mrs JDS on lthe phone - we will be driving as will be in UK and she wants to go shopping in Calais ofr a truck load of liquid Christmas essentials on the way back, so we will have no probs packing our sleeping gear.

We shall travel in a 2 vehicle convoy with our security crew outriders on bikes, leaving Blighty on the 07.50 tunnel thingy (not up to speed with such things) on the Friday morning.

Obviously there will be photo and wee stops (for lady PP) on route and we will duly arrive in Rotterdam when we get there, chat says 2 hours, but who knows. Russ has plans for lunch... hopefully not 10,000,000 Scouvile Chilli sauce on Nice skinny girls.. sorry, fries!

Then its on with the weekend!

Not sure of my travel arrangements as yet. How long is the drive from the Calais ferry?
If I drive it, I won't require any help with sleeping gear. However, if I fly, i may need some help. Will sort it in the coming days.

If I drive, what is the best ferry crossing (I'm located in the South East of England) Dover, Folkstone & tunnel are all convenient. How long is the drive, once across the water?

We will probably use Speedferries to cross (el cheapo!), Dover to Boulogne. According to Multimap it's about 3.5 hours from Boulogne to Rotterdam without comfort stops.
