Spoken to the troops and we would be interested in the ticket booking service, particularly given ACO cock ups of the last two years.
But not intersted in a hospitality tent, a la MRI etc, I don't like the idea of plastic palm trees and meals at a set time. We'd rather do our own thing.

If your arrangements fall out of bed with JPchenet, let me know, we'll be at Pompey docks wed evening, (leaving Crawley area wed about 7.00pm). You're welcome to lob your gear in the back of the van. We're on MB though this year so wouldn't need the HA tickets.

Solar shower bags are available at most caravanning/camping stores. 10 Litre one was about a tenner from memory.
We have installed an electric shower in the Commer, £17 also from the camping shop. You just drop the pump into a bowl of warm water, it plugs into the fag lighter. Very powerful.

It would have been rude to decline their kind offer!
As for Lord Charles, I remember him too, but I never found him that funny. The big 4-0h is fast approaching for me too. Frightening particularly as I still have a mental age of 15.

You mentioned the bloke with the flashy green jacket and radio. I wonder if it's the bloke that years ago we christened Fred Scuttle. He's been working down there for years and he is a dead ringer for the Benny Hill character. He even has his hat and glasses on at the same angle as Fred. I'm surprised he hasn't retired yet, but he was still there when we went to the Classic in sept.
If you see him, walk around very fast in a long line all following each other doing the Benny Hill theme tune. He gets completely baffled by it!

1995 we stayed the sunday night in Cherbourg. We were threatened with the police by the over-sensitive patron of a hotel. This was because we were farting too loudly and waking up the other guests up. He didn't see the funny side. Next morning I ended up having breakfast in the hotel dining room wearing only my underpants and a teeshirt as I had lost my trousers somewhere the night before during a hideous piss up in the bars of the old town. Then we missed the ferry because only my brother heard the wake up call and invited the caller to sod off.
Ended up on the 16.00 to Pompey. Derek and Justin Bell were on board, having just come third? in the Harrods McLaren. Very nice they were too.

I wouldn't worry too much about logging on twice a day. If you look at the old forum, there were very few posts between 12th-17th June last year, probably less than a dozen or so.
Still, you may want the porn...

An alternative suggestion. From Bayeux, cut along the pretty little coast road and stop at the D Day museum at Arromanche. It is execellent and if the tide is out you can walk out to sea and climb on what remains of the Mullberry Harbour. There are a few nice seafood restaurants there too. When we visited we also had the pleasure of meeting some "Vets" (and I don't mean James Herriot).
You can then cut back down to the new dual carriage way and stop off at St Mere Eglise if time permits.
