Well knock me over with a glass of vodka, or wine or even Pastis for that matter, I had not realised.

It feels good being a dog, able to Pxss wherever you want and sniff... no don't go there Buster...

Think I will go and curl up and have a sleep...

Internet restored after six weeks and a sacking of my previous ISP.  Have had a bit of a bumpy ride since last posting as I thumped the offending knee and now await expert opinion as to what to do next as it hurts like hell and has done for nearly a fortnight now.  I also found a lump where a woman would rather not find a lump which happily I found out yesterday is "pas mechant" (not naughty) as they say here.  Phew.

Appointment with doc' tomorrow pm about the knee.  It's all happening.

Good luck.

I have a lot of faith in medical science, and at a far less serious level, the docs have done a wonderful job on the wife's knee and bunion

A brief update.   I saw the surgeon on Tuesday and he tells me that I have managed to detach the tendon which runs down the front of my lower leg (one re-attached by the surgeon in the original operation a year ago.)  I've just had a phone call to say he'll do the op' on Monday so it's back to hospital again for me.  At least it's local and I shouldn't be in for so long this time, but long term I don't know what it means and neither does the surgeon until he's opened me up and had a look.  Here we go again. ::)

Are you going to Tertre Rouge? My mate was in for an op, up and walking 2 days after trying to see who was testing on Bugatti.

Bugger, Termie...

still it could be worse

my son had to have a tendon replaced and fixed after his cruciate ligament operation.

And physio did get the newly pinned one working as normal quite quickly

fingers crossed Debs

It turned out not to be the ligament at all, but four of the pins (and there appear to be about 20 in all), have broken and lots of stuff has consequently moved about in the knee - possibly a colapse which began weeks or months ago and which my "little tap" (for that was all I gave it) just exaserbated the thing.  The surgeon has tidied it up a bit and we'll see how it goes but I see him again in November after which, if there is no improvement, he'll go in again for a much longer (5 hours or so) op' and rebuild the thing from scatch. ::)

Back to rehab as an out-patient in the morning.  At least nobody hangs about round here.
